What the syndication of contents?

The syndication is a method of increasingly popular aggregation of contents which have to play a major part as regards division of resources on Internet.

It acts of a process which makes it possible to republish contents coming from a Web site on other sites of information. Using specialized software, it is thus possible to subscribe with wire of information generated by Web sites using this process.

One of the advantages of this process is that contrary to the neswletters and with the Usenet network, it is not necessary to provide an address of courriel to reach the syndicated contents, which contributes to decrease the risks of pollupostage.

Based on language XML and so known under acronym RSS [ 1 ], the syndication is especially exploited by the sites of the type blogist [ 2 ] which republish in an automatic way and in real time the current events published by other sites and vice versa.

The Net surfers can also benefit from the syndication using applications allowing to gather and synthesize wire of information RSS which one finds on various Web sites (see the list of the applications available to the end of the article).

There are several formats of syndication. This should not however not be regarded as a brake with the use of this process since the majority of the tools for aggregation allow to read the majority of formats RSS available.
